WHY I WROTE IT
A dream that would not let go
More than twenty years ago, Stephen woke from a vivid dream that felt so real he had to write it down. He jotted a few paragraphs, thinking it would be nothing more than another idea.
But every year or two, he returned to it—adding a line, expanding a scene, and wondering why it kept pulling him back. In late 2024, he realized it was finally time to bring the whole story to life.
“Even if no one else ever read it, I needed to write the whole thing.”
And Still We Stood is the beginning of what that dream eventually became.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Rather than fitting neatly into a single category, the novel follows a deeply personal point of view from three characters caught in the middle of national collapse. It is about what they hold on to, what they refuse to surrender, and what they choose to stand for when standing becomes the hardest thing to do.
